If there’s one thing you can be sure of on a Chobe safari, it’s that you will see elephants. Chobe National Park is one of the best areas in Africa – if not on earth – to see elephants in the wild.
Established in 1968, the park supports the largest surviving elephant population in the world. On an open vehicle game drive through the park or a cruise along the Chobe River, you may see hundreds of elephants at one time as scores of family herds converge on the water’s edge to drink their fill, bathe and play.
Even more remarkable than the number of elephants, is their size. The elephants living here are Kalahari elephants, the largest in size of all known elephant populations.
If you love elephants, this is a pinnacle wildlife experience and one for your travel bucket list! Our Chobe Game Drive or Chobe Boat Cruise day tours are both half day experiences. Alternatively, ask us to curate your tailor-made Chobe elephants in the wild package.
Spend some time with the camera in your lap just observing the elephants with your naked eye. They are truly incredible creatures and a combination of sight, smell and sound makes for a special game viewing experience.
